With an 8-0 record in league play, Ball State remains the only undefeated team in the Mid-American Conference.
The bottom of the sixth inning won the game for Ball State as it posted five runs to defeat Western Michigan 10-4 Sunday afternoon.
The bottom of the first inning proved the strongest offense of the game for Ball State as the team posted six runs against Western Michigan for what would be an easy 13-0 victory.
Ball State swept Northern Illinois in the first home series of the season, as the team wasted no time getting on the board in either game of the double header.
Ball State’s softball team’s offense has been its mainstay this season. But its pitching was the key in a 1-1 split with IPFW.
Ball State will travel to Fort Wayne, Ind., today to face IPFW for the first time since falling to the team 5-4 in 2010.
Halfway through the season and four games into league play, Ball State has hit 30 home runs, 61 doubles, 181 RBIs and has a team-combined slugging percentage of .519.

After a strong weekend on the road in Louisville and two players earning titles from the Mid-American Conference West Division, Ball State travels to Fort Collins, Colo.
