Ball State women's basketball managed to erase a 12-point deficit to come back and win 76-68 against visiting Mid-American Conference West Division rival Northern Illinois. While senior guard Nathalie Fontaine took the spotlight with her 40 minutes of play and record-breaking performance, junior center Renee Bennett led the charge to bring the Cardinals back for the victory. Fontaine's last second layup was set up by Bennett, who stepped up to pull away from the Huskies with just a few minutes remaining in the game.
Ball State women's basketball travels to Eastern Michigan on Feb. 27, against an Eagles team that has won five straight games.
Ball State women's basketball lost its first home game of the season against Central Michigan 74-65 after struggling in areas the team normally excels at.
Sophomore guard Frannie Frazier has not started in a women's basketball game this season, but head coach Brady Sallee doesn't see her as a bench player. Frazier was one of five Cardinals who scored in double digits during Ball State's 78-71 victory over Akron on Feb. 3.
After the 2014-2015 season, the Cardinals ended up with a 5-7 record. Following a strong draft class with retaining key players on both sides of the ball, many expected them to push for a bowl game.

In a game where the Ball State women's basketball team was pressured all night, the Cardinals were able to pull away a 76-54 victory over Eastern Michigan.
With the Cardinals win against conference rival Buffalo, they advance to 11-4 (3-1) but a pattern has emerged. In nine of their 15 games, the Cardinals have been outscored in the first quarter and forced to play catch-up. “I thought we started the game off well and we went through a stretch where they got squirrely on me,” head coach Brady Sallee said.
I'd like to start this off by saying: at least we're not Eastern Michigan. They finished the season 0-8 in the conference, 1-11 overall.
