On Friday evening, Ball State added another piece to its growing tradition. The Cardinals’ decisive 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-16) victory over Central Michigan (6-8, 0-2 MAC) marked the program’s 1000th win in its 52-season history.
Muncie Burris defeated Frankton for the second time this season with a 3-0 sweep at Ball Gym in Muncie. The Owls picked up their 19th win of the year and look to ride that momentum into the Pioneer Conference tournament Sept. 23.
Tonight it happened once more as she left the court to her screaming players in the locker room. There was one key difference. Wells traded in the black and gold for a black and red when she became Wapahani’s head coach during the offseason. Tonight's 3-2 Middle-eastern Conference win over Daleville was her first time back in the familiar gym.

The Cardinals’ 2-1 record on the weekend equates to a second-place finish in the four-team Ball State Invitational.
Yorktown went into last night’s home opener against Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory having only played one other game (a 3-0 win against Westfield) this season. But the Braves had already played four games and had only lost one set in that stretch. Yet the visiting Braves have now lost four sets as the Tigers came out victorious as they defeated their opponent 3-1, giving Yorktown its second straight win.
Coming into Saturday’s IHSAA Class 4A Volleyball State Championship game, MaxPreps ranked Hamilton Southeastern fourth in the nation and Yorktown fifth; the teams had a combined record of 67-3 this season. They already met this season before this championship showdown; a 5-set encounter that saw Hamilton Southeastern come away with a win.
After finishing runner-up in class 2A volleyball to Barr-Reeve two years ago, the Raiders hoped to capture another state championship for the school out of Selma.
Ball State Women’s Volleyball (18-6, 10-2), the top team in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) West Division, swept the first-place team in the MAC East Division, Bowling Green (14-9, 9-3), to sit atop the MAC undisturbed in first place overall Oct. 28.

Munciana Volleyball Club has experienced success on the travel volleyball club circuit with 38 national championships, 22 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Championships, 15 USA Volleyball Championships and one Junior Volleyball Association (JVA) Championship.

No. 1 seed Ball State men’s volleyball (21-3, 12-2 MIVA) took another step closer to its season goal April 16, defeating No. 8 seed Quincy University (4-18, 0-14 MIVA) to advance in the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) tournament.
The 2022 season was one for the history books for Ball State men's volleyball (20-3, 12-2 MIVA). Following a first outright Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association regular-season championship since 1997, five members of the program have been awarded MIVA honors.

From Cruz being named head coach of the Cardinals June 16 to the Cardinals defeating then No. 1 Hawaii (19-5, 4-3 BWC) twice in three days to, most recently, winning the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association regular season championship after defeating Purdue Fort Wayne (15-12, 6-8 MIVA) April 9, it's all happened in less than a year.
Heading into a matchup against Loyola Chicago (17-7, 11-2 MIVA), men’s volleyball (19-3, 11-2 MIVA) had only dropped two matches in the 2022 season, one of which to the Ramblers.
