Plitt joined more than 30 Ball State players who competed in their final collegiate game against Georgia State and head coach Mike Neu expressed his gratitude for what they have done for the program.
Entering the 2021 season, Ball State’s motto was “run it back” as they aimed to win a second consecutive Mid-American Conference (MAC) championship. Against Buffalo in the final game of the season, however, the motto quickly changed to “one more game."
When Taylor Swift’s Red first came out over nine years ago, I vividly remember going to the mall, walking into Justice, and seeing stacks and stacks of the CDs next to the sparkly camisoles; meanwhile, “I Knew You Were Trouble” was playing over the store speakers. Now I am 20, and in my anticipation of the rerelease of Red, I felt the exact same butterflies in my stomach as my 11-year-old self did that day inside Justice.

Four Cardinals scored in double-figures against the Cougars, including junior guard Tyler Cochran, who scored a team-high 19 points. Thomas scored 13 points on 5-for-8 shooting, while junior guard Luke Bumbalough and freshman center Payton Sparks each finished with 12 points. Sparks grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
Junior Sydney Freeman and redshirt junior Anna Clephane paced the Cardinals with 16 points each, while senior Thelma Dis Agustsdottir scored 12 points. Bischoff and freshman Marie Kiefer recorded 11 points. Kiefer also led Ball State in steals with three. Freshman Ally Becki totaled eight assists and seven rebounds, both team-highs.

As the fall 2021 semester comes to an end, roughly 1,500 Ball State seniors are preparing to graduate and head into different work fields, said Angel Tuttle, assistant director of commencement and university events.
The end of the semester is synonymous with graduation, specifically the advancement of undergraduates into the workforce. However, for graduate school students, it means the culmination of an additional two years of schooling, taking their education to the next level. While graduate school can take many different paths, the result is often the same: A master’s degree.
Redshirt junior Anna Clephane led the Cardinals in scoring for the seventh time this season with 18 points. Senior Thelma Dis Agustsdottir and junior Sydney Freeman each scored 15 points, while freshman Ally Becki chipped in 10 points.
While each of these students have different stories and they participate in different sports, they all have one thing in common. Through planning for the future and putting themselves out there, these individual Cardinals have given themselves a starting point on the path to their future.
