Coach Stan Parrish left it up to the observers of the Ball State University football team's spring game to determine if freshman Kelly Page would be the starting quarterback Sept. 3 when the Cardinals open the season at home against the University of North Texas.

TRACK AND FIELD: Senior Williams continues her domination

Ball State University track and field's fifth-year senior Amber Williams took three of the five victories collected at the Miami Invitational in Oxford, Ohio this weekend. Williams picked up right where she left off in the 100-meter race as she again won the event with a time of 12.

WOMEN'S GOLF: Team finishes third at Purdue Shootout

The Ball State University women's golf team entered the Purdue Ladies Midwest Shootout coming off of a performance in Columbus that left something to be desired. Wet weather mixed with cold temperatures in Columbus and gusting winds inflated scores across the board throughout the weekend.

MEN'S GOLF: Cards finish 12th at tourney

In its third tournament in three straight weeks, the Ball State University men's golf team finished 12th at the 17-team Arizona State University Thunderbird Invitational in Phoenix. The Cardinals shot a team-combined score of 870 during the Friday and Saturday invitational, 32 strokes behind winner Arizona State University.

Downtown trolley returns for late loop

A committee consisting of members from Downtown Development and the Downtown Business Council has decided to bring the Muncie trolley back for the last month of the Spring Semester, Cheryl Crowder, program manager of Downtown Development, said. The trolley will run every 15 minutes starting at Reserve and University avenues at 9:50 p.

Spectrum 'motivated' for event week

Spectrum President Damon Clevenger couldn't help but to admit he's a little extra motivated this week. Between it being the Ball State University GLBT group's week of events, the April 4 Iowa Supreme Court ruling upholding a decision not to restrict marriage to a union between a man and woman and the April 7 decision making Vermont the first state to allow same-sex couples to marry through legislation, Clevenger said he wants people to get involved this week.

SOFTBALL: Cards' winning streak extends to 7

The Ball State University softball team increased its winning streak to seven games after going 4-0 during the weekend. The Cardinals (20-16, 10-1) defeated Bowling Green State University (7-22, 2-8) in a doubleheader on Friday and defeated the University of Toledo (5-27, 3-7) on both Saturday and Sunday.

Second Teachers College candidate addresses future problems in education

Faculty and staff from the Ball State University Teachers College gathered Friday to evaluate the second candidate for dean. John Jacobson, dean of the college of education at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, held an open forum in L.A. Pittenger Student Center.

INTERACTIVE: Campus Cuts' groovy barber

This isn't the typical barbershop. The similarities end at the sight of locks of hair hitting the floor and the sound of scissors and hair clippers buzzing. Algier Williamson is the owner and operator of Campus Cuts, a local barbershop in the Village. Williamson has been cutting hair in Muncie for the last four years, but has been trimming people up for 11 years.
