Doc's on Dill played its last song Saturday after less than one year in business. The local music venue opened in the Village in October 2008 as an extension of Doc's Music Hall, located in downtown Muncie. Owner Mike Martin said the goal of Doc's Music Hall, which has been open since May 2006, is to make and share music with the Muncie community.
The chances of the Village growing in popularity for Ball State University students just suffered another major blow. Doc's owner Mike Martin announced this weekend that Doc's on Dill, located on North Dill Street, has opened its doors for the final time and is now closed.
The owner of Greek's Pizzeria in the Village has decided to branch out from pizza to try his luck in the tanning business. Andy Goth, a Muncie native who bought Greek's from the original owner five years ago, is preparing to open Sunsations Tanning on July 6.
The largest conference to ever be held at Ball State University is beginning today. Ball State will host the Indiana United Methodist Church's annual conference Thursday through Sunday, bringing about 2,500 to 3,000 United Methodists to campus. Rita Stewart, director of conferences and special events at Ball State, helped to coordinate the event.

More than 100 faculty members, students and supporters gathered Wednesday to congratulate Roy Weaver, the retiring dean of the Teachers College, on his 29-year career as a leader and scholar at Ball State University.
