Entering the 2021 season, Ball State’s motto was “run it back” as they aimed to win a second consecutive Mid-American Conference (MAC) championship. Against Buffalo in the final game of the season, however, the motto quickly changed to “one more game."
The Cardinals were led by Clephane, who scored a career-high 26 points. Senior Thelma Dis Agustsdottir chipped in 18 points.
Four Cardinals scored in double-figures against the Cougars, including junior guard Tyler Cochran, who scored a team-high 19 points. Junior Sydney Freeman and redshirt junior Anna Clephane paced the Cardinals with 16 points each, while senior Thelma Dis Agustsdottir scored 12 points. Bischoff and freshman Marie Kiefer recorded 11 points. Kiefer also led Ball State in steals with three. Freshman Ally Becki totaled eight assists and seven rebounds, both team-highs.
Redshirt junior Anna Clephane led the Cardinals in scoring for the seventh time this season with 18 points. Senior Thelma Dis Agustsdottir and junior Sydney Freeman each scored 15 points, while freshman Ally Becki chipped in 10 points.
While each of these students have different stories and they participate in different sports, they all have one thing in common. Through planning for the future and putting themselves out there, these individual Cardinals have given themselves a starting point on the path to their future.
