Ball State Women's Golf places 9th out of 15 at Butler Fall Invitational

Firm greens, challenging greens to putt on and tall roughs were some of the challenges the Ball State’s women's golf team saw from Oct. 3-4 at the Butler Fall Invitational as described by head coach Cameron Andry.  The Cardinals placed 9th out of 15 teams and first-year Sarah Gallagher finished within the top ten, tying for seventh.

Ball State splits games in road trip to Michigan

Multiple Cardinals, especially freshman and sophomores, made new appearances during the road trip to the mitten state. Mainly first-year forward/midfielder Maddie Summit, first-year midfielder Emma Van Hal and first-year forward Christine Ditizio. They each averaged about 15 minutes of playing time.

Cardinals sweep Eagles to win back-to-back matches

After a much closer match the evening before, Ball State Women’s Volleyball (10-6, 2-2) was not looking for more than three sets as it swept (25-17, 25-19, 25-16) Mid-American Conference (MAC) opponent Eastern Michigan (1-15, 0-4) and sealed back-to-back home wins in the second week of conference play.

Golf in the U.S. has been on the rise since the COVID-19 pandemic. According to GolfDigest, around 500,000 people picked up golf in 2020 in America. Chain stores like the PGA Superstore reported a 70% increase in sales in the past two years due to the golf wave in America, reported by Forbes

Cardinals fall to Georgia Southern on the road

In the fourth quarter between Ball State Football (1-3, 0-1 MAC) and Georgia Southern (3-1, 0-0 SBC) Sept. 24, the lead changed three times in the fourth quarter in what was mostly a one-score game. The Cardinals fell 34-23 to the Eagles.

SOCCER

Cardinals draw in MAC opener

Ball State (1-3-3, 0-0-1 MAC) headed East to their neighboring state, Ohio to battle it out on the field at Miami University (4-2-2, 0-0-2 MAC).  The Cardinals scored twice quickly to go up 2-0 before the Red-Hawks swooped in putting two on the board, resulting in a 2-2 draw.

Chaos is part of the charm

Duck under the balls flying at you, pass the ball around and try to score but don’t forget the PVC pipe between your legs, don’t drop that. It’s your broom, but, contrary to what you may think, it doesn’t make you fly.
