Ball State uses fast start to blow by Xavier

The Ball State Men’s tennis team capped off a successful week for the team on Friday, defeating the Xavier Musketeers 6-1. Coming into the match, the Cardinals (6-3) were fresh off road wins against Niagara on Sunday, and Purdue on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Musketeers (6-3) had won six of their last seven, including a 4-3 win over Cleveland State, a team Ball State lost to 1-6.

Ball State’s 2023 Season is here and the Cardinals are "chomping at the bit"

Ball State Softball’s first two seasons under head coach Lacy Schurr’s direction have been two different stories. In her first season, the COVID-19 season, the Cardinals went 37-18. The team broke a handful of program records including the most Mid-American Conference (MAC) wins (31) and the longest MAC winning streak with 16 games. Ball State also broke multiple statistical records including the best batting average (.329) and on-base percentage (.415) for a single season.

“He’s the hardest worker in the room and it’s been that way all summer,” Bradley said. “I’m not surprised at all that he qualified for state.”

In 2023, Ball State Baseball looks to make NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2006

Despite numerous accomplishments heading into his 18th season as head coach of Ball State Baseball, reigning Mid-American Conference (MAC) Coach of the Year Rich Maloney has never made an NCAA Regionals appearance at Ball State. The last time the Cardinals achieved that mark was in 2006 when Maloney was manning the Wolverines at the University of Michigan in the same tournament.

Men’s tennis pulls off tight win over Purdue

The Cardinals (5-3) have been looking to get better production out of their doubles matches ever since shifting the lineups last Friday versus Butler. The switch has helped them get off to better starts, and the doubles point set the tone once again today against the Boilermakers (1-7).

Ball State grinds out another win over Northern Illinois

Dishing out 15 assists as a team, Ball State (19-7, 10-3 MAC) took care of business as it completed the season sweep of short-handed Northern Illinois (11-15, 7-6 MAC) by 10 points. The first thing head coach Michael Lewis had to say in the post-game press conference was an acknowledgment of a hard-fought game from the Huskies.

Cardinals Defeat Bowling Green, jump a spot in MAC standings

On Saturday afternoon, Ball State attempted to improve its spot in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) as Bowling Green visited Worthen Arena. Before the game, they were alone in fourth place. After the Cardinals (17-7) used an offensive clinic to guide them past the Falcons (10-14) 93-72, they now sit tied for third and have a chance for second place.

DELAWARE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL

Wes-Del defeats Eastbrook on a special night for Warriors head coach

On Friday night, Wes-Del took on the Eastbrook Panthers. Before the game started, each Warrior walked across the court with their grandparents. Wes-Del head coach John McGlothin thought that was the only ceremony taking place. The PA announcer then told the crowd that coach Mcglothin would be retiring following the end of this season. Then numerous former players and coaches walked through the gymnasium doors to hug and talk to the 30-year career coach.

WOMEN'S TENNIS

Cardinals roll to 6-1 win over Youngstown State

The Ball State women’s tennis team is coming back to Muncie after picking two wins in northeast Ohio. The first came in a 5-2 win against Cleveland State, and the second came on Feb. 11 over Youngstown State. Head coach Max Norris wanted to switch the lineups around for the match today and wanted to see more production out of doubles. He got exactly that.
