Cardinals go winless in the Blue Jay Invitational

Ball State (2-4) finished the Blue Jay Invitational winless, falling to Creighton, Northern Iowa and LSU. The Cardinals will attempt to get back on track when they face Wright State (2-4) in their opening match of the Dayton Tournament Friday, Sept. 8, at 5 p.m.

“It looks good on us”

Caden’s girlfriend, Kiara Henderson, grew up with Caden in Lexington, but now attends the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky. After making multiple five hour drives to visit Caden at Ball State, she said the two-hour drive to their hometown to support her partner felt like nothing.

Warriors fall to Greenwood Christian Academy

Wes-Del football was on the cusp of its first win of the 2023-24 campaign as they led Greenwood Christian Academy 26-22 with 3:56 left in the fourth quarter. But after multiple missed tackles by the Warriors, Cougars’ starting quarterback sophomore Trey Dobson gave his team the lead with a touchdown run. This score would go on to be the dagger as the Warriors fell 29-26.

'A great test'

Although Ball State has never defeated an SEC opponent, the Cardinals have high expectations heading into their week one contest against Kentucky. Ball State is set to face off against the Wildcats at Kroger Field in Lexington, Kentucky, at Noon Sept. 3, where the spread has the Cardinals as 26.5-point underdogs.

A Summer of Change

After returning to the Mid-American Championship softball tournament for the first time since 2019, the Cardinals went through significant player and personnel changes during the summer, but remain confident going into 2023.

The past week saw much success from a plethora of Delaware County sports teams, including the Yorktown Tigers, Delta Eagles, Burris Owls, Daleville Broncos and Wes-Del Warriors.
