FOOTBALL: Injuries may force Jones into starting safety role

Ball State needs the future to become the present in a hurry for Brian Jones this week. In the season's first four games, Jones, a redshirt freshman, played primarily on special teams before injuries to seniors Sean Baker and Josh Howard forced Jones to play extensively on defense in Saturday's 62-6 loss at No. 3 Oklahoma.

MEN'S GOLF: No. 28 Ball State finishes fifth in Florida

The Ball State men's golf team finished in fifth place after three rounds in the Cobra Puma Invitational at Miromar Lakes Golf Course in Fort Myers, Fla. The team was 12 strokes behind leader Florida Gulf Coast with an 866 for the team.

MIKED UP: Don't fret about loss to Oklahoma

From the second we arrived on Oklahoma's campus, I knew I was in Big 12 country. Tailgaters were everywhere. People were charging fans $20 to park in their front lawns. Roads around the stadium were closed off, which made for a headache when trying to get to the parking garage. This was just the scene outside the stadium before the game against Ball State.
