Bill Richards receives NCAA Bob Frederick Sportsmanship Award

On Wednesday, head coach of Ball State's men's tennis team Bill Richards was announced as the recipient of the NCAA's Bob Frederick Sportsmanship Award for the 2014-2015 season. The Frederick award was created in 2009 in honor of the late Bob Frederick who served as the Kansas and Illinois State athletic director.

Kitchel named MAC West Offensive Player of the Week

After the best statistical weekend in her career, redshirt junior outside attacker, Mackenzie Kitchel was awarded with the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career.

Former Cardinals face-off in NFL matchup

In Oct. 26's Nation Football League action the Indianapolis Colts faced off against the New Orleans Saints in a matchup that had two former Cardinals on the same field for the first time since playing at Ball State.

Defense shows signs of improvement in loss

The Achilles' heel for Ball State thus far has been the inconsistency of the defense. This season, the Cardinals are allowing 484 yards per game to opposing offenses, which ranks 11th in the Mid-American Conference.

Weather contributes to Ball State home loss

Today’s weather provided a significant advantage for whichever team was playing with Scheumann Stadium’s westbound wind at their backs in the Cardinals’ 23-21 loss to Central Michigan. Head coach Pete Lembo said it's something his team practices with.

Ball State vs. Central Michigan - Quarter Updates

First Quarter The Central Michigan Chippewas started with the ball and drove down the field with ease against the struggling Ball State defense in less than three minutes. Central Michigan's quarterback, Cooper Rush capped off the six-play, 75-yard drive with a 16-yard touchdown pass to Corey Willis. Ball State took over at the 23-yard line, but could not do anything with it.

With heavy influences from her Zimbabwe origins and slight hints of her time in the United States and Australia, the Ball State alumna’s voice mirrors her path across the globe.
