Ball State football 3rd least penalized team in FBS

Ball State football has had several ups and downs this season, and the team sits at 3-7 overall and 2-4 in the Mid-American Conference. One area the team has excelled at offensively is the low amount of penalties they give up. Head coach Pete Lembo attributes the low number to the high expectations he set for the team. “If you set the standards and expectations and expect your guys to live up to those every day then you have a much better chance of going out there and not committing foolish turnovers, foolish penalties,” Lembo said.

Watts Named MAC Golfer of the Week

The warm Hawaiian sun was not enough to distract men's golfer Johnny Watts from a dominant performance at the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic. Watts finished third out of 102 golfers, topping nine of the 10 top-100 players coming into the tournament. Though Watts finished third, he was just two strokes behind individual medalist Zach Healy out of Georgia. The Sophomore out of Fishers earned his place after posting a career-best 54-hole score of six under par 207 after going 69, 68 and 70 respectively. This is the fourth top 20 and second top ten finish for last spring's MAC individual champion.
