Mattingly sets minutes record, Roberts ties wins mark

One game, two records. When Ball State soccer beat Northern Illinois 2-0 Sunday, senior defender Leah Mattingly broke the school record for minutes played and head coach Craig Roberts tied the Cardinals’ record with his 70th win with the program.

Ball State field hockey is ready to prove itself in MAC play

It will only take one win for Ball State field hockey (5-7, 0-1 MAC) to finish with a better Mid-American Conference record than it did last season. The Cardinals finished the 2015 season 0-6 in the MAC (2-16 overall), and first-year head coach Christy Longacre has been looking forward to the team's first conference win since Oct. 11, 2014.

Former Ball State football player sues MAC, NCAA

Former Ball State fullback Geoff Donner filed a class-action lawsuit against the Mid-American Conference and National Collegiate Athletic Association earlier this week. Donner played for the Cardinals from 1993-95 and also alleges that he tried to sit out a practice to recover from a concussion, only to be threatened with having his scholarship pulled if he didn't participate.

Soccer on track to defend Mid-American Conference title

Defending conference champions. Ball State soccer is off to a 3-0-1 Mid-American Conference record (8-2-2 overall) start in its defense of its MAC regular season title, but on Oct. 6 they'll play Western Michigan, a team that takes exception to Ball State's title claim.

Sabrina Mangapora: A leader by example

Down two sets to none and trailing 20-15 in the third set to Youngstown State, junior outside hitter Sabrina Mangapora stepped on the court for her first regular season match in nearly two years. She contributed a kill and back-to-back service aces to help bring Ball State back within two in a crucial third set.
