Ball State sports: Feb. 9-11 weekend in review

With spring sports starting up and winter sports moving deeper into conference play, it's hard to keep track of everything that's going on in Ball State athletics. Here's everything that happened the weekend of Feb. 9-11 for Ball State's athletic teams.

BASEBALL

Ball State softball players earn spots on All-Conference teams

Now that Mid-American Conference league play has ended, the Ball State softball squad has more to celebrate than entering the MAC tournament seeded No. 5 with an overall record of 30-26 (14-10 MAC. They also have four players that have earned spots on All-Conference teams.  Junior second baseman Maddy Labrador became the 31st player in program history to be named First Team All-Mid-American Conference.

Driven to Wynn

Thursdays are travel days for the Ball State softball team as they prepare to play three-game series, with games on Friday, Saturday and sometimes even Sunday.

RECAP: Ball State softball vs. Toledo

Right-handed pitcher junior Carolyn Wilmes cracked open Ball State's softball history book this afternoon by recording her first career no-hitter to lead the team to a 2-1 victory over Toledo (20-30, 8-9 MAC) in the first game of today's double-header.
