Two Teams Undefeated in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) went head-to-head Oct. 2 with Bowling Green’s streak coming to an end.
Found the inside pass. Took it wide. Sent it into the box. Jumped up for a header and suddenly the Cardinal fans are on their feet celebrating a goal.
Ball State (1-3-3, 0-0-1 MAC) headed East to their neighboring state, Ohio to battle it out on the field at Miami University (4-2-2, 0-0-2 MAC). The Cardinals scored twice quickly to go up 2-0 before the Red-Hawks swooped in putting two on the board, resulting in a 2-2 draw.
Ball State soccer (1-3-3, 0-0-0 MAC) drove an hour south to take on Butler (3-4-1, 0-0-0 BEC) in Indianapolis Sept. 15, leaving Indiana's capital with a 2-2 draw.
Valparaiso (1-3-2, 0-0-0 MVC) took a trip to Muncie in an attempt to avenge their loss from last year. A loss for the Beacons meant Ball State (1-3-2, 0-0-0 MAC) earned its first victory of the 2022 season.
Ball State Soccer (0-3-2, 0-0-0 MAC) went on the road to compete against Purdue Fort Wayne (2-1-2, 0-0-0 HORIZON) Sept. 1 taking a loss and keeping the Cardinals winless to start the 2022 season.
Ball State Soccer (0-2-2, 0-0-0 MAC) has yet to win in its opening four games of the 2022 season, most recently falling to Xavier (3-0-1, 0-0-0 AAC) 4-2 Aug. 28.
For five Delaware County High School Soccer programs, the 2022 regular season campaign began the evening of August 16.

Forward Lexi Fraley stepped into a key rotation role this season for the Cardinals, making the most of her time on the field. Despite not starting any of her 16 games played, Fraley scored a team-high four goals and ranked second on Ball State in points with eight.
Ball State scored its first goal from its own player in the 17th minute, as redshirt senior midfielder Nicky Potts sent a pass to fellow senior defender Kennedy Metzger, who leapt above everyone to head it the goal.
In a match where the Cardinals had to play 10-on-11 for over 50 minutes, Ball State fell to Kent State 3-0. In the 39th minute, the Cardinals suffered two ejections — senior defender Lexy Smith and assistant coach Hannah Sullivan.
After nearly 83 scoreless minutes, the final seven minutes helped give Toledo a 2-1 win over Ball State Sunday afternoon. In the 87th minute, Toledo freshman midfielder Olivia Dault hit junior forward Stephanie Currie in stride to send the ball past senior goalkeeper Alex DeRuvo, to give the Rockets the victory.
