Pittenger Student Center Cardinal Hall B.-á Unlike previous semesters, this meeting is oriented toward the first-year experience, Brian Starkel, Interfraternity Council vice president of recruitment, said.

TRACK: Cards win four individual titles

Being shorthanded did not stop Ball State University's women's indoor track and field team from finishing third at the Bowling Green Quadrangular Friday. The Cardinals did not have participants in the triple-jump or 5,000-meter run, but won four individual titles and one relay in the first scored meet of the season.

BBC challenges Ball State students to be creative with interactive TV

The British Broadcasting Company is offering two eight-week, all-expenses-paid work experiences in London to Ball State University students. The students would work with interactive television, which is the future of television in the United States and is already prominent in the United Kingdom, Mike Bloxham, director of insight and research for the Center for Media Design, said.

WHO, ME?: Basketball support shows encouragement

Last year, the Ball State University men's basketball team was in the midst of a total washout of a season. The Cardinals went 10-16, and then-coach Tim Buckley tossed arguably the team's best post player off the team for reasons that will likely never be made clear and, most importantly, student attendance was at the lowest level since The Nest was created to begin the 2004-2005 season.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Ball State continues record streak

Less than three minutes into Saturday's game against Miami University, three 3-pointers and a driving layup gave Ball State University an 11-0 lead. The three-minute segment foreshadowed what became a 90-62 Cardinal rout. The 28-point advantage against the Red Hawks was Ball State's largest margin of victory over a Mid-American Conference opponent since a 99-55 win against the University of Akron on Jan.

MEN'S BASKETBALL: Cardinals win on road

It took almost two months, but Ronny Thompson earned his first road win Friday. Ball State University's men's basketball team defeated Central Michigan University 64-57. The Cardinals (6-12, 2-3 Mid-American Conference) were led by Peyton Stovall and Skip Mills who each scored 17 points.

SWIMMING AND DIVING: Team drops conference meet

The Ball State University women's swimming and diving team suffered a Mid-American Conference loss this weekend to the University of Toledo 163-136. "Overall it was a frustrating meet with how close the outcome was," co-coach Bob Thomas said. "Toledo's team is similar to ours in ability and they won a couple extra events and that made the difference.

University releases calendar for 2007-08 academic year

The desk calendar will say Tuesday, but don't be fooled before Thanksgiving Break next year. It'll be a Friday. The Ball State University academic calendar for 2007-08 is officially released, and it reflects two major changes approved by the university: the elimination of Saturday finals and the combination of withdrawal periods.
