With a 15-2 record, including a perfect 6-0 mark in the Mid-American Conference, the Ball State University women's basketball team has piled up numerous statistical achievements. The Cardinals are currently on their second-longest winning streak with nine consecutive victories.

Students are always a factor in university decisions because one student is chosen biannually to sit on the Ball State Board of Trustees. Obviously, this is one of the most important positions a student could hold, and the choices the elected student makes will affect Ball State students more than any other elected or appointed student's decisions.

Daniels' education plan spurs debate

As soon as the next academic year, some Indiana high school graduates could receive a state-sponsored scholarship of $5,000 a year to attend Ball State University. However, there is a catch. These students would have to remain in Indiana to work for three years after they graduate from college.

Terry Macy and Daniel Hart's award-winning documentary "White Shamans and Plastic Medicine Men" digs skin-deep into the commercialization of American Indian spiritual traditions by non-American Indians. In our most recent student government elections, fewer than 18 percent of Ball State students voted, down 12 percent from the year prior. Search fails to find student's cell phone

WEST LAFAYETTE - Searchers scoured a portion of Purdue University's campus Saturday for the cell phone of a missing student used the night he vanished, but failed to find the device, a campus spokeswoman said. MEN'S TENNIS: BSU fails to recover from loss

Looking to rebound from a loss, the Ball State University men's tennis team dropped its second straight match on Friday to Northwestern University. Coming off a loss to DePaul University, the Cardinals lost 5-2 to the Wildcats. The loss dropped Ball State to 1-2 on the season, but coach Bill Richards said the Cardinals played fairly well.

GYMNASTICS: Coach optimistic about team's freshmen

Despite losing to Kent State University Friday, gymnastics coach Lisa Simonton was happy with the performance of her freshmen. Ball State University (0-2) fell to the Flashes (2-0) 194.575 to 189.350 on the road. Freshman Megan Howard scored a 9.625 on the uneven bars to finish in fifth place.
