After breaking a four-match losing streak, things will not get any easier for the Ball State University men's tennis team Saturday. The Cardinals will travel to the No. 34 University of Kentucky, Ball State's highest ranked opponent since losing to No. 5 University of Illinois January 26.

An icon of American comedy will be celebrating his birthday at Emens Auditorium at Ball State University Saturday at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. "Larry the Cable Guy" will appear at Ball State for the second time in two years. When "Larry" appeared at Emens in February 2005, his act sold out the 3,406-capacity auditorium, resulting in two shows being scheduled this year.

Former Marvel VP to visit BSU

As a child, Shirrel Rhoades received a comic book every day from his father. As an adult, he became the executive vice president and publisher of Marvel Comics, allowing him to work with those responsible for creating the comics he read. "It was like a convergence of a passion and a skill set," he said.

Free parking Friday

Parking Services will not ticket vehicles in most Ball State University parking lots Friday while the school clears snow from Tuesday's blizzard, Public Safety Director Gene Burton said. Exceptions include handicapped parking, loading zones, service vehicle parking and the parking lot east of the Administration Building, he said.

There's no French Quarter in Muncie, but Walnut Street will resemble New Orleans' Bourbon Street Saturday as community members celebrate Fat Tuesday at Muncie Gras 2007. Students take advantage of Tuesday's snow day

Junior Allyson Stoller looked out the window of the Botsford/Swinford lounge on Tuesday morning in awe at the sight of the blustery conditions outside. A native of St. Augustine, Fla., Stoller said Tuesday marked her first official "snow day." "We've always had school cancellations because of hurricane watches," she said.

Residents are asked to stay off roads

The Delaware County Commissioners, Muncie Mayor Dan Canan and the Chiefs of all emergency and Public Services ask all motorists to stay home unless going to work or have emergency errands. The commissioners said snow crews are working to clear the roads, but ask motorists to not park on the streets so the crews will have clear access to the roads.

As long as the road is plowed, a tow truck should be able to assist a stuck vehicle, but each situation is different, Barbara Lacey of Nye's Wrecker Service said. All tow companies offer 24-hour towing services, except Quick Silver Towing that operates from 8 a.

Thomas Kinghorn has the authority to do something that all students wish they could do. As the vice president of Business Affairs, Kinghorn is the person who makes the recommendation to Ball State University President Jo Ann Gora to cancel classes. Kinghorn made the recommendation to Gora to cancel classes on Tuesday, and he also helped make the decision to cancel all classes before 5 p.

The junior forward converted the three-point play, giving DeMuth her 26th point of the game.
