A two part fashion and hair show in Ball State University's Alumni Center focused on what most people do not see every day. The first half of the show featured high-fashion clothing, and the second half featured dramatic hair and makeup accented with colorful lights.

Chelsea Clinton will make an appearance Tuesday at Ball State University to campaign on the behalf of her mother. MEN'S TENNIS: Coach says Ball State moves in right direction

Despite his teams 1-2 performance at the Boise State Invitational this weekend, Ball State University men's tennis coach Bill Richards said he saw his team moving in the right direction. "It was a good weekend," Richards said. "For us the key thing is to get everyone to play good matches at the same time.

WOMEN'S TENNIS: Cardinals shut out in conference opener

The Ball State University women's tennis team was shutout 7-0 by Miami University in Saturday's Mid-American Conference openers for both teams. The RedHawks (7-5, 1-0 MAC) first claimed the doubles point after winning at the No. 1 and 2 spots. Ball State's Emma Retter and Hayley Hall got the team's one match win of the day at the No.

Muncie residents had two opportunities to take their children on an Easter egg hunt Thursday on Ball State University's campus. Hundreds of people showed up for Delta Tau Delta's annual Easter egg hunt for the Boys & Girls Club of Muncie and the University Program Board's Eggstravaganza.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Winning streak lives for another day

The No. 7 Ball State University men's volleyball team rallied from a two-game deficit to defeat IPFW 32-24, 23-30, 30-23, 30-28, 15-11 on Friday at Worthen Arena. Outside attacker Patrick Durbin had a career-high 29 kills, and setter Ethan Pheister had a career-high 75 assists.

No smoking citations reported yet

As Ball State University ends its first week as a smoke-free campus, students who smoke remain ticket-free. Kay Bales, vice president of student affairs, said no students had received citations for smoking in non-designated areas as of Thursday afternoon.

They sit among us every day in class or on the shuttle bus. We see them every weekend in line at Dill Street Bar & Grill or with friends at mt cup. We pass them on the streets and don't even know it. They are Muncie-phobes. UPD gets more calls on skaters

Senior telecommunications major Jonathan Hudson said he had been skateboarding since he was in high school and had seen more skateboarders on campus this year than last. Hudson said he skated around campus and Emens Auditorium with friends until he received a warning outside of Elliot Dinning Service by police Sunday.

Gambling in polls prohibited

While people across the country are filling out polls for the NCAA basketball tournament, members of the Ball State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics are not. If they do, they could lose their job or eligibility. According to the 2007-2008 NCAA Division I manual, staff members within athletics departments, non-athletics department staff members who have responsibilities within or over the athletics department, staff members of a conference office and student-athletes are not allowed to knowingly participate in sports wagering activities or provide information to individuals involved in or associated with an type of sports wagering.

SOFTBALL: Doubleheader canceled because of rain

For the second time this week, the Ball State University softball team canceled a home doubleheader because of bad weather. Today's scheduled doubleheader between Ball State and Butler University was canceled Wednesday because of heavy rain. No make-up date was announced for the games.

Handrails scratched beyond belief, concrete chipped and broken away. What kind of punishment befell those who got caught causing such destruction? A $30 fine.

BASEBALL: Cardinals sweep weekly conference awards

The Ball State University baseball team swept the weekly Mid-American Conference West Division awards Tuesday. Kolbrin Vitek won the MAC West Pitcher of the Week and Zach Dygert won the MAC West Player of the Week, for their play during the Cardinals' road trip last week.

SWIMMING AND DIVING: Four athletes make Academic MAC team

Four Ball State University swimmers made the Academic All-Mid-American Conference men's swimming and diving team. Senior Ryan Franklin and sophomores Tyler Dixon, Ben Karowski and Dane Mishler were among the 21 athletes to earn a spot on the conference team, which was announced Thursday.

BASEBALL: Home game rained out, next game Friday

For the second consecutive day, the Ball State University baseball team had its game canceled because of rain. The Cardinals' game against the University of Indianapolis was canceled Wednesday, one day after Ball State's game against Anderson University was rained out.

Tears, laughter and applause resonated through the Ball State University Student Government Association during Campus Alliance's inauguration ceremony Wednesday. Family, friends and administrators attended the event and welcomed the new slate into office.

Grand total of $321 million

Despite what students might think, funding new construction and building renovation at Ball State University involves more than tuition increases. During the January Board of Trustees meeting, President Jo Ann Gora said Ball State had spent about $320 million on construction and renovation projects since she came to the university in August 2004.
