A Ball State University student is in stable condition at Ball Memorial Hospital after she was struck by a car Tuesday night on campus, Ball Hospital spokesperson Matt Cox said. Muncie Police Officer Kyle Temple said Jamie Rich, 22, was walking beside her bike to her house on West Centennial Avenue, when she was hit by a black 2007 Pontiac, driven by 19-year-old Erin Craig, also a Ball State student.

The Student United Way has planned another poverty simulation as a way for students to learn about and get involved in the community. The group collaborates with Teamwork for Quality Living in Indiana to raise awareness about poverty in Muncie, said Austin Gerber, president of the Student United Way.
Two weeks after students first moved in, DeHority Complex officially reopened during a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday. Ball State President Jo Ann Gora cut the ribbon marking the official reopening of the complex at approximately 3:45 p.m. DeHority originally opened in 1960 as four all-women's halls.

Indiana American Water held a public hearing Monday at the Horizon Convention Center to discuss two improvement projects to be made to streets in Muncie this semester. Greg Gibson, construction manager for Indiana American Water, said during the meeting that the project consisted of replacing the 2-inch water duct main on North Street and University Avenue for 8-inch water ducts, which will supply a better flow to residents of the nearby neighborhoods.
