Letterman tickets sold out

Letterman tickets are sold out as of 12:30, said Christy Chambers, assistant director of marketing and communications at John R. Emens Auditorium.

Prayer vigil to be held in remembrance of Paris, Beirut, Baghdad victims

After the terrorist attacks in Paris, Beirut and Baghdad over the weekend, a vigil will be held on Nov. 16 to pay respect to the victims whose lives were lost. Christina Thibodeau, a sophomore international development and relations major, organized the vigil, which will be held at 5 p.m. at Frog Baby. SGA will be partnering with Thibodeau to organize the event.

As many as 120 dead in Paris shootings, bombings

A series of attacks targeting young concert-goers and Parisians enjoying a Friday night out at popular nightspots killed as many as 120 people in the deadliest violence to strike France since World War II. President Francois Hollande pledged that France would stand firm against what he called terrorism. The worst carnage was at a concert hall hosting an American rock band, where scores of people were held hostage and attackers hurled explosives at their captives. Police who stormed the building, killing three attackers, encountered a bloody scene of horror inside.

Students shouldn't fear challenging their religious beliefs, professor says

A high school in Indiana has changed its Christmas program after being sued by the Freedom From Religion Foundation, but a biology professor said students should not be afraid of challenging their beliefs. Concord High School in Elkhart is being sued by the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) after a complaint was made by the "Doe" family about a Nativity scene in its holiday program, the Christmas Spectacular.

Grant connects students with disabilities with paid internships

Students go to college assuming they will earn a degree that will make them employable, but for people with physical disabilities that’s not always the case. Around 18 percent of people with physical disabilities are employed, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Of people without disabilities, around 94 percent of people are employed.

Construction in Downtown Muncie

Downtown Muncie has always been a maze to drivers with one-way streets and alleyways. This past year things have been even more difficult because of the $3 million dollar construction project closing down parts of Walnut Street.

Camping for David Letterman tickets begins day early

The first group of students started camping out for tickets to see David Letterman at 10 p.m. Nov. 11, a day and a half before tickets will even be available. Letterman, one of Ball State’s most recognized alumni, is returning to campus Nov. 30 to host a discussion with filmmakers Spike Jonze and Bennett Miller. Tickets will be available starting 7 a.m. Nov. 13, and are free of charge.
