Sorority Photo Sparks Controversy

MUNCIE -- The Gamma Mu Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega issued an apology after posting a controversial photo on Instagram Sunday. Kaela Miller, Alpha Chi Omega Chapter president, said in a statement, "The Gamma Mu chapter of Alpha Chi Omega apologizes for a recent incident involving a sign quoting a Beyoncé lyric that may have had racial undertones.





A popular myth that has spread around Ball State's campus for years is that if more than five women live in a house together in Delaware County it is considered a brothel. The Muncie City Clerk’s office confirmed the rumor is not true. Samantha Brammer // DN

Despite popular belief, 'brothel law' is a myth

Every time the beginning of the school year rolls around, the rumor mill starts to spin again. One popular myth is that more than five women can’t live in a house together because it’s considered a brothel.
