On Monday Nov. 6, Ball State University with much fanfare introduced its new logo, “We Fly”. This new slogan raises many interesting questions: What is the value of a tagline? What was wrong with our "Education Redefined” tagline?
Our government serves the interests of the wealthy. Corporate lobbyists, massive campaign donations and a revolving door between Washington and Wall Street has turned our system from a democratic republic to a plutocracy.
I was intrigued with the Daily News editorial about conservatives on campus being afraid of speaking their opinions.

On Jan. 20 at 12 p.m. I will be walking out of class and heading to the University Green as a mild act of civil disobedience.

Dear Editor, More than 20 years ago when I first began teaching at Ball State in the journalism department, I met Howie Snider, who had been teaching in the department for 10 years, mostly advertising and mass media. Highly popular among students, the Muncie native had already been named university "Instructor of the Year" and would be again before he retired in 2004.
