‘The stage you dream about'

After a 44-14 loss to Kentucky in week one, Ball State travels down to Athens, to play the No. 1 team in the nation, the University of Georgia. Mike Neu is looking at the positives of the Cardinals' 30-point loss to the Wildcats instead of the negatives coming into their matchup with the Bulldogs.

Big Game Purpose

Ball State is winless against Southeastern Conference (SEC) opponents, and largely unsuccessful against any Power Five program. Despite the losses, what do the Cardinals gain from playing this elite competition?

'Bumps and Bruises'

After suffering four injuries, including two that left players out for the rest of the game, against Kentucky, Ball State football is gearing up to face another Power Five opponent in No. 1 Georgia. Will this stiff competition continue to adversely affect the Cardinals health?

“It looks good on us”

Caden’s girlfriend, Kiara Henderson, grew up with Caden in Lexington, but now attends the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky. After making multiple five hour drives to visit Caden at Ball State, she said the two-hour drive to their hometown to support her partner felt like nothing.

Warriors fall to Greenwood Christian Academy

Wes-Del football was on the cusp of its first win of the 2023-24 campaign as they led Greenwood Christian Academy 26-22 with 3:56 left in the fourth quarter. But after multiple missed tackles by the Warriors, Cougars’ starting quarterback sophomore Trey Dobson gave his team the lead with a touchdown run. This score would go on to be the dagger as the Warriors fell 29-26.

Delta defeats Muncie Central in first game of the season

In their first game of the 2023 season, the Delta Eagles received the opening kickoff and started to gain momentum. But then, first-year starting quarterback, junior Bronson Edwards, fired an interception near the endzone, which was returned to midfield. “I think it was mainly my mindset because, after that first pick, it kind of looked like everything was just going downhill,” Edwards said.

Delaware County High School Football Preview

The 2023 Delaware County high school football season is right around the corner as week one will begin on August 18. While some teams are looking to continue with what they worked on last season, others are going to have new looks. But the three goals that are the most prevalent are making their school proud, being the best in the county, and making a run in the playoffs.

Ullom, Nanko will compete in North/South All Star Classic

If an Indiana high school football athlete shines for their school, they could be chosen for the Murat Shrine North/South All-Star Classic, which is held by the Indiana Football Coaches Association. For this year’s 57th annual game, two Delaware County players will play for the North team. Those are Muncie Central’s Josiah Ullom and Yorktown’s Kolton Nanko.
