Rainn Wilson cutout is selfie gold at Ball State

Ball State Dining's #RainnBSU promotion this week encouraged students to take selfies with a cutout of Rainn Wilson, known by many for his role as Dwight Schrute in "The Office." Up for grabs is a meet-and-greet with the actor and author, who is scheduled to present "SoulPancake: Chew on Life's Big Questions" at 7:30 p.m.

Camera shop owner transforms hobby into his calling

When Mike Powell was a student at Ball State school years were measured in quarters rather than semesters. He was working two jobs and attending class full-time. One of his jobs, the one at Jack’s Camera Shop, started out as a hobby, but it ended up being his career.

Award winning author goes from virtual visits to a campus talk

When author Eliot Schrefer visited Ball State for the first time, he did it virtually through Skype. On Monday, Schrefer will finally step foot on university soil as part of the English Department’s Marilyn Cory Speaker Series. He’ll present his speech at 7 p.m. in the Art and Journalism Building, room 175.

Local DJ creates 'deep' music with light intentions

“Deep” is a word used to describe multiple facets of local dubstep DJ Phlank's musicianship. First, he considers himself a “deep dubstep” producer. This junior computer science major also makes prodigious use of deep, low frequencies. But most of all, Colin Ledbetter's statement as a musician is deep.

Tonight is the end of an era for NBC’s “Parks and Recreation” fans. Avid followers of the latest Pawnee happenings, might be having a hard time coping with the fact that seven seasons of hilarity is coming to an end tonight. Renowned choreographer teaches dance students

She has a bachelor’s degree in history from Yale University, a master’s degree in choreography from Purchase College Conservatory of Dance, is an adjunct professor at Barnard College in New York City, and has worked with Juilliard. Now she’s at a different university: Ball State.
