Tromp leads Cardinals into Notre Dame with confidence and new award

With a time of 18:30.7, freshman Emily Tromp won the Cardinal Duals meet Sept. 23. For her performance, she was named the Mid-American Conference Runner of the Week by the MAC coaches. This is the first time a runner from Ball State has received this award since Ali Bishel in 2007. Tromp was humble when asked what the award meant to her.

CROSS COUNTRY: Ball State takes fifth in Jenna Strong Classic

The Ball State cross country team finished with one of its strongest races this season. The Cardinals took fifth place out of 34 other teams in the Jenna Strong Fall Classic, hosted by Wilmington College. Together Ball State’s five scored runners posted a time of 19:16.25, earning them 170 points.

Playing with the same teammates on either high school or college teams creates bonds. At some point, they go from being teammates to being lifelong friends.
