NEW DELTA HEAD COACH

Former Ball State Cardinal now leading Delta Girls' Basketball

After being a standout basketball player for Muncie Southside High School, Ty’Ronda Benning played two seasons of women’s basketball at Lincoln Trail Community College. But at the end of her second year, she wanted to return to her hometown. She decided to transfer to Ball State University. Years later, she hopes to bring that mentality to her new job as Delta High School’s girls’ varsity head basketball coach.

WAPAHANI WINS REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Wapahani wins first regional championship in school history

As the crowd filled the court, head coach Matt Luce was shaking hands and thanking fans for their congratulations left and right, getting lost in the crowd. When it came time to speak about the game, he asked to sit on the bench. After all, his team had just made history, and he wanted to take a breather and let it set in. The Raiders defeated the Carroll Cougars 73-50 to make history as the first Wapahani boys' basketball team to win a Regional Championship.
