March 3-5, Ball State Baseball (7-5) won 3-of-4 games in a series in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The Cardinals defeated Cornell (0-5) and Purdue Fort Wayne (2-10) twice, and fell to No. 3 Wake Forest (12-0). Ball State returns to action March 7 at Florida A&M (5-8) at 5 p.m.
After going 1-3 in its opening weekend series against Charlotte (3-4), Ball State Baseball (4-4) flips the script and goes 3-1 in the Swig and Swine Classic Feb. 24-26. The Cardinals return to action Mar. 3-5 at a four-game series in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where they take on Cornell (0-2) at 10 a.m. in the first of two Mar. 3 games.
In a four game series Feb. 17-19 to open up the 2023 season, Ball State Baseball (1-3) won one of four games against Charlotte (3-1). The Cardinals return to action Feb. 24-26 as a part of the Swig and Swine tournament in Charleston, South Carolina, with game one against Merrimack at Noon Feb. 24.
Despite numerous accomplishments heading into his 18th season as head coach of Ball State Baseball, reigning Mid-American Conference (MAC) Coach of the Year Rich Maloney has never made an NCAA Regionals appearance at Ball State. The last time the Cardinals achieved that mark was in 2006 when Maloney was manning the Wolverines at the University of Michigan in the same tournament.
Pasta, white uniforms, MLB Players and autographs helped kick off the 2023 Ball State Baseball season. Youth baseball players, Ball State Alumni and Muncie locals showed up with Ball State Baseball in attendance as head coach Rich Maloney and current Washington National Alex Call spoke about the upcoming season.
Montreal, Québec, is known for a few things. It is the largest French-speaking city in North America and has many famous festivals, but it also has a rich history of baseball. Imagine this, game seven of the World Series, a sold-out Nashville crowd and a Nashville World Series win. Could you imagine what Broadway Street would be like that night? Charlotte, North Carolina, should undoubtedly be the number one candidate for cities up for an MLB expansion or relocation team in the near future.

August 1, 2022, former Ball State Baseball right handed pitcher and 4th round pick in the 2021 MLB Draft by the Houston Astros, Chayce McDermott, was traded from Houston to the Baltimore Orioles as part of a three-team trade centered around sending former Oriole Trey Mancini to the Astros.

Schweitzer, Ball State Baseball head coach Rich Maloney, Ball State Baseball pitching coach Larry Scully and anyone who followed Ball State Baseball during the 2022 season, knows the left-handed pitcher is almost certainly going to be drafted.

Indiana District 6 is set to play host to both the 2022 Little League Baseball Indiana State Tournament and the Junior League Softball Central Regional. These two tournaments are scheduled to overlap, as the Little League Baseball Tournament is scheduled for July 22-27 and the Junior League Softball Tournament is scheduled for July 20-25.
