Cardinals score season-high 16 runs, earn series win

The Ball State baseball team scored a season-high 16 runs in a 16-8 victory over Buffalo in the rubber match of a three-game series at Ball Diamond.  Center fielder Matt Eppers got the Cardinals on the board first, with a two-RBI single in the second inning.

Cardinals open MAC play with shutout

On March 20, Ball State (13-7) and Bowling Green (5-11) met for the first time this year, starting both their three game series and conference play for both clubs. The early going was a defensive showcase for both teams. Ball State pitcher sophomore Zach Plesac played spectacularly and got off to a fast start, striking out two Falcons in the first inning.

Sophomore earns conference award

College Sports Madness announced Ball State outfielder Alex Call has been named the Madness Mid-American Baseball Player of the Week.  In four games, the sophomore hit .267 in 16 at bats, with six RBIs.

Ball State edges Dayton in Ohio

The Ball State's baseball team earned a comeback 5-4 win over Dayton on Sunday in game one of a doubleheader.  After falling behind by a run in the first, senior Elbert Devarie started Ball State's half of the second inning with a leadoff  single followed by a walk from Colin Brockhouse.

Relief pitching, balanced offense help Ball State extend streak

First baseman Caleb Stayton hit two doubles and scored two runs and center fielder Matt Eppers finished with a double, a triple and two RBIs, as the Ball State baseball team defeated Elon 8-3 on Sunday.  Freshman pitcher Brendan Burns earned the win, entering the game for starter Matt Haro with two outs in the third.
