The McKinley Avenue Agency is a student-led agency within the School of Journalism and Strategic Communication and provides students the opportunity to gain professional experience in a real-world work environment.
Part of professional development includes a commitment to designated office hours, just like any post-graduation job.
New associates should be prepared to be available for 6-8 hours per week between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. As you gain more experience, you can use the agency for internship credit or apply for a paid leadership position. With these roles, you will be expected to work an average of 12-18 hours depending on position.
Any student, regardless of experience level, can also receive course credit for working at the agency by getting approval to enroll in Journ 179. If you are interested in this, please indicate that on your application below.
