MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State Baseball won their triple-header against Toledo this past weekend.
The team dominated Friday’s game, winning 12-2, and carrying that momentum into Saturday, winning 8-7. Toledo, however, avoided a sweep with a 6-3 win.
This game marked the end of the Cardinals eight game winning streak. Despite the tough loss, the team continues holding a record of 15-6.
Keegan Johnson, who was awarded MAC Pitcher of the Week last week and still holds an undefeated record on the mound, mentioned how the tough loss hurt.
“It’s a tough loss, obviously we don’t like to lose, but we have to keep moving forward,” Johnson said.
Head coach Rich Maloney dittoed this, mentioning how he isn’t worried about the loss.
“This is a very tight-knit group,” Maloney said. “If we keep doing what we
are doing, I don’t see a reason why we can’t win.”
The team looks to keep building off of their recent success as they prepare for their next game against Butler today and an upcoming series against Xavier later in the week.
