Ally Becki breaks women’s Ball State all time assist record

Senior Ally Becki passes Carmen Grande for the all-time assist record in women’s Ball State basketball history.

MUNCIE, Ind. — Senior Ally Becki passed Carmen Grande for the all-time assist record in women’s Ball State basketball history. 

 “When I pass the ball the hardest job they have to do is make it. My part is easy, I couldn't be more grateful,” Becki Mentioned. 

Carmen Grande had 697 assists during her three year career at Ball State from 2015 to 2018. 

Becki added nine assists to her career total during her senior night, the eighth one put her over the mark. 

“It means everything to me… it was good to reach those goals, definitely one of the goals I had coming in here,” Becki said. 

Head Coach of the Lady Cardinals, Brady Sallee expressed her excitement for what this means for the team.

“It's time to get some womens jersey’s up in this place,” Sallee petitioned. 

Becki has set several records this season and even found herself in some elite company. Eight players have had 1,500 points, 700 rebounds and 650 assists in their careers, Becki being one of them. 

“Being on a list with Caitlyn Clark and Dawn Staley, those are elite players, the best in the game, seeing my name up there means a lot to me,” Becki said.

The Cardinals are set to face the Broncos at 11a.m. on March 12.
