MUNCIE, Ind. (NewsLink) – The Legally Blonde musical tour made a stop at Emens Auditorium Monday night, putting the Harvard into ‘Harvard of Muncie.’
The performance started at 7:30 p.m. at the auditorium as part of Emens Auditorium Artist Series. Many audience members wore pink in spirit. The show brings a “contemporary, sassy musical [with] memorable songs and explosive dances” per the auditorium’s website.
Perfect for the setting of a college campus, the musical is also described to take viewers from “the sorority house to the halls of justice with Broadway’s brightest new heroine,” being Elle Woods.
Reviews of the tour include The New York Times, calling the show a “high energy hymn to the glories of girlishness.”
Audience members like Kate Uebler are ecstatic to have the popular tour stop in Muncie.
“I am so excited, I love Legally Blonde,” Uebler said. “I love Reese Witherspoon, so I’m really excited to see the musical.”
Uebler has been impressed by the shows Emens Auditorium has hosted in this year’s series, and she is looking forward to upcoming performances as well.
“I think Ball State has had many great shows come,” Uebler said. “They host Rocky Horror every Halloween, which I love.”
In Uebler’s eyes, this has been a trend in her four years on campus.
“Historically, Emens has had really good shows, so this should be exciting,” Uebler said.
The Legally Blonde - The Musical tour is stopping at Purdue University for its next show on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m. For more the full show schedule for Emens Auditorium, visit the auditorium’s website.
