MUNCIE, Ind. (NEWSLINK) -- On Feb. 15, the Muncie Burris boys' basketball team took to the court to face the Hagerstown Tigers in a senior night matchup. The boys celebrated their two senior players Adam Combs and Daniel Miller.
Daniel Miller is playing his first year of basketball and got a chance to have a lot of minutes in the game. Going into the final minute of the game, the Burris Owls had a 17-point lead against the Tigers. After a missed shot by the Tigers, the Owls had the last possession. After grabbing the rebound, the Owls passed it ahead to Miller, who was standing wide open in the corner, hitting the 3-pointer for the last shot of the game.
When the final buzzer sounded, the team came sprinting on to the court lifting Daniel, and they were celebrating not just the big win on Senior night but their big-time senior.
After being shown appreciation by his teammates, he was embraced by the student section.
“Storybook right there … I'll be so proud of that probably until the day I die," head coach John Donahue said.
