MUNCIE, Ind.(NewsLink) -- Rain or shine, members of the Lambda Beta Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma will be outside Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday for their annual 24-hour-sleepout. It's called "Sleepout for the Homeless".
The fraternity participates in a 24-hour homeless simulation at the Scramble Light in an attempt to raise money for the Muncie Mission Homeless Shelter. This year; however, the donations will be spread out throughout the community to other organizations, including Muncie OUTreach.
"You're going to see a huge tent that will have our fraternity letters on it, Phi Beta Sigma Inc. You're going to see a lot of our members," said Jared Martin, President of Phi Beta Sigma. "We're going to be outside using all four corners of the Scramble Light, making sure we get in that money, getting people engaged with us."
The goal is to raise $3,500. People passing through can donate with cash or to the fraternity's Venmo or Cashapp: LBCSigma. You can also donate canned goods and clothing to the event.
