MUNCIE, Ind.(NewsLink) -- Delta High School had their homecoming game this past weekend against New Castle. Delta, who has struggled in conference games all year until this point, finally grabbed that elusive conference win, 49-12.
The game started off rough for Delta, with a couple of early fumbles. However, that did not stop the Eagles from soaring later in the game, as they rebounded from the turnovers and started firing on offense. The first half came to an end with Delta leading, 22-12.
The Eagles then exploded in the second half, putting up 18 points in the third quarter, and eight points in the fourth.
The Eagles rushed for over 300 yards and five touchdowns.
Sophomore quarterback, Kaiden Bond, had an impressive performance in front of his home crowd. Through the air, he amassed over 100 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, he rushed for just under 90 yards and a touchdown.
Looking forward, the Eagles will be on the road against conference opponent Pendleton Heights.
