MUNCIE, Ind.(NewsLink) - Following the news of NBA legend Kobe Bryant’s death on Sunday, the Ball State Men’s Basketball team spoke on what he meant to not only the game of basketball, but to the entire world.
Junior guard Ishmael El-Amin said, “I'm devastated for his family, for his wife, and for his other daughters… it's a hard time for a lot of people just cause of what he meant, you know it's a great loss for the game of basketball”.
Bryant had a big impact on the Cardinals, as he was an influence in their basketball careers.
Senior guard Josh Thompson stated, “I remember my dad took me to go see Kobe, actually, when he played the Pacers. I always looked at Kobe, LeBron, Tracy McGrady, a lot of the players I always looked at, that was like our superheroes.”
The Cardinals will resume action Tuesday night at Bowling Green, where they will look to bounce back from a loss on the road to Central Michigan.
