MUNCIE, Ind. (NewsLink) - The 8 to 12 Collation is working with residents, organizations, and businesses to make a better Muncie.
"Our focus is revitalizing the neighborhood of south central and portion of Thomas Park avondale," said the collation.
One project the residents worked on was placing planters down Walnut Street with the neighborhood logo.
"To carry on throughout the years. The residents who live here and will remain here need to be the ones who have... come up with these ideas and put them into action," the collation said.
Additional to residential help, there have been 15 organizations working on this project including the Ross Center, Habitat for Humanity, and Muncie Missions, but Jackie Ross, one of the members from the Ross Center, stresses that it's not just an organizational collation.
"We build a sense of community, we dream together and we work together to revitalize our neighborhood," said Ross.
Ross said residents have warmed up to the idea of the 8 to 12 Collation and are starting to see the benefits of the project.
