MUNCIE, Ind.(NewsLink) - The women’s volleyball team is looking to make a splash Friday in the Northern Kentucky Tournament. After a tough 3-0 loss to Gonzaga, the Cardinals are looking to bounce back and get things on track.
Blocking is a category that the cardinals are trying to work on as their opponents have over 20 more total blocks this season.
Head coach Kelli Phillips remains optimistic about the rest of the season.
“I have a lot of great feelings about how things are going,” said Phillips.
The Cardinals are 3-3 on the season but have yet to win a game on the road.
According to freshman Natalie Risi, Coach Phillips has advised the team to keep working on what they’ve been working on and wants each player to stay consistent with their play style.
One aspect they’ve been able to stay consistent with, is their digs. As they are almost completely even with their opponents.
The Cardinals will have a full weekend as they face Northern Kentucky on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and will follow it up with a double header on Saturday morning at 10:00 against Cincinnati. The team will then end on a game against Notre Dame at 5:30 p.m.
