Around 30 area law enforcement officers targeted those with outstanding warrants in Delaware County Wednesday.
The officers were looking to serve over 20 warrants to residents in Delaware County for their involvement in drug-related charges including but not limited to dealing heroin and meth.
The officers served warrants in four teams with each team looking to serve around five to six warrants. Many were arrested as a result of the sweep.
“It takes a lot of resources to track these people down,” said Muncie Police Chief Joe Winkle. “So, we came to the conclusion, the Sheriff and I, that we should get together and put these teams together and try and get them all picked up at one time.”
Preliminary charges for those arrested were not immediately available.
