Rosebud Coffee House open for business

Rosebud Coffee House opened its doors in the Thomas Park/Avondale neighborhood in early December 2020. Owner Tiara Hicks wanted to covert an old bank branch building to create a safe and welcoming environment for the community to hang out and work.



Cyclists race to bike shops

When the pandemic closed the doors of thousands of businesses in 2020, bicycle shops were declared essential and remained open. Bicycling offered an opportunity to spend time outside and get some exercise. Three months into COVID-19 lockdown, Hardin’s Bike Shop had sold nearly everything in their store.

Adding to the ever growing list of rogue-like games, WORLD OF HORROR offers unique and inventive gameplay, settled into stylish pixel art and eldritch horror in equal amount. While the loop approach to the narrative can end up a bit predictable, WORLD OF HORROR is an indie title well worth time and price tag.

Joe Gatto to perform at Emens Auditorium

Best known for his appearances in hit TV shows "Impractical Jokers" and "The Misery Index," comedian Joe Gatto will make an appearance at Emens Auditorium March 2, 2024, afer extending his current 'Night of Comedy' tour, Ball State Marketing and Communications announced via email Dec. 5.

Holcomb appoints a new member to Ball State Board of Trustees

Ball State University graduate, William “Craig” Dobbs, was appointed as the newest member of Ball State’s Board of Trustees by Gov. Eric Holcomb Dec. 4. The head of The Dobbs Group, a financial consulting firm in Carmel, Indiana, Dobbs earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance in 1986 from Ball State and his Master of business administration at Notre Dame.

The fear tied to ageism is growing old

In our society, youth equates to beauty, but it shouldn’t be such a prominent point where it leads to fear. We need to stop ranking women by their age, looks or physical appeal. Women are more than the year they were born or their “fading” youth.
