QUESTIONABLE CONUNDRUMS: Lack of info during threat caused fear

The call came in at about 1:30 in the morning. It must have been important because my co-worker on the other end of the phone decided a text wouldn't be fast enough. "Hey Logan, there's a bomb threat at LaFollette," were his first words. The crisp Sunshine chicken fingers went from being the first thing on my mind to the last.

Preserving a legacy

The Ball brothers started the Wooden Jacket Can Company in Buffalo, N.Y. They made their first jar in 1884 and called it a Buffalo jar. They moved to Muncie after the discovery of natural gas in East Central Indiana in 1876. Cities offered companies free land and natural gas to come to the area to stimulate growth.

THOUGHTS FROM THE JOHN: Depleting oil reserves prompt energy research

Scared out of my mother-loving wits! That's how I feel when I think about typical OPEC nations' responses to the question, "How much oil do you guys have left down there?" Responses range from, "We haven't looked. Call back in 10 years," to "None of your damned beeswax!" These countries: Algeria, Angola, Ecuador, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Venezuela, all have a history of vagueness on this subject.

Bright ideas

Walking into associate professor of marketing John Vann's office, the first thing you'll notice is that his overhead lights are off and he has a single lamp with a fluorescent bulb on top of his desk with several mirrors close to the window reflecting sunlight.

OUR VIEW: Yo quiero

Students looking to think outside the bun will soon have an on-campus food option. Once the renovations are complete, the L.A. Pittenger Student Center will have a Taco Bell. The student center is notoriously empty. It's far from the center of campus and therefore does not solicit much foot traffic.
