Documenting Docs: 'Mommy Dead and Dearest'

Mommy Dead and Dearest is a documentary released in 2017 and directed by Erin Lee Carr, director of another true crime documentary Thought Crimes: The Case of the Cannibal Cop. In Mommy Dead and Dearest, Dee Dee’s murder is discussed, but the primary focus is the abuse endured by Gypsy.

Animator for 'Pocahontas,' 'An American Tale,' 'The Land Before Time' and others visits Ball State

Ball State’s School of Art has been inviting different artists to speak this semester. Thursday, March 28, John Pomeroy gave a talk to aspiring animators and artists. Pomeroy was trained directly by several of Walt Disney’s Nine Old Men, an elite group of employees during Disney’s early years. Some of his most popular animated work is included in Pocahontas, Land Before Time and An American Tail

Cardinal Con offers opportunities for fun and learning this weekend

This weekend, Cardinal Con, an event hosted by Ball State’s Japanese Animation Society, will be held in the Miller College of Business on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The convention is going to be a celebration of all things anime, comics, and gaming. Several groups will be hosting activities and panels. Groups like the Pokémon Trainers Union, Cardinal Esports, and Cartoonists Collaborative will be participating in the event along with many other campus organizations. There will also be a collection of artists displaying and selling their original works at the convention.
