by Ryan Fine The popular comedian Louis C.K. has been accused of sexual misconduct by five women, at least four of whom are fellow comedians and performers. According to the women, these encounters happened over a decade ago and involved C.K. masturbating in front of them or on the phone with them. These accusations follow a slew of stories from the entertainment industry involving countless celebrities using their positions of power for sexual assault and misconduct. In response to these allegations, the premiere of Louis C.K.’s new film I Love You, Daddy has been cancelled just hours in advance. The already controversial comedy-drama was directed by, written by, and starring Louis C.K., also featuring performances from Chloë Grace Moretz and John Malkovich. The film, which premiered at Toronto International Film Festival in September, has generated some discomfort from viewers and critics for its use of the N-word by prominent characters (including Louis C.K.’s character) and a scene involving child rape. Louis C.K. has said that the film pays tribute to the works of Woody Allen whose adopted daughter accused him of sexually molesting her in 1992 when she was seven years old. C.K.’s planned appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which was scheduled to take place tonight, has also been scrapped. Louis C.K.’s publicist Lewis Kay says that the comedian “is not going to answer any questions.”
