With 14 routes spanning the city of Muncie, students can get almost anywhere they need to be — for FREE! MITS(Muncie Indiana Transit System) can take you to and from Ball State University, Minnetrista Cultural Center, Walmart, downtown Muncie, and more!
There are many advantages to using the MITS bus. First, it’s much cheaper than a car. Cars require gas, maintenance, insurance, and more, and it adds up quickly. The MITS bus, however, is FREE for students!
It’s also better for the environment, as there’s less carbon released in the air if multiple people take one vehicle. It also allows you to avoid harsh weather that can hinder you when either driving or walking.
You can easily plan your trip on their website, or by downloading the MITS app. All you have to do is enter your starting point and then enter where you want to go. If you’re unfamiliar with public transit, the First-Time Rider page can ease your worries.
