Ball State Soccer announced the hiring of Andy Stoots as the Cardinals next head soccer coach, according to a March 11 press release. Stoots takes over the Cardinal squad which failed to make the Mid-American Conference (MAC) tournament last season, it's first absence in three years.
"I am extremely grateful and humbled to be named the head coach of Ball State women's soccer," Stoots said. "I want to thank President Mearns, Jeff Mitchell and his staff for trusting me to lead the program, build on the history of success and compete for MAC championships while developing our student-athletes off the field and in the classroom."
Stoots arrives in Muncie following a four-year stint as associate head coach at the University of Missouri. He brings to Ball State a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances at Louisville, and a two-year stay at Minnesota with another NCAA berth, according to the press release.
"We are excited to welcome Andy Stoots and his family to the Ball State community," Ball State Director of Athletics Jeff Mitchell said. "We engaged in a thorough and thoughtful search process, and what strikes me about Coach Stoots is his breadth of experience at all levels of the game."
