CLEVELAND — On the third day of the Daily News sports team’s journey to the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tournament, the crew enjoyed their second off day from coverage.
The day began with coffee and breakfast in the hotel. Following that, the team headed to the Cleveland Aquarium to view a wide range of underwater creatures. Fish, sharks, turtles, frogs and much more were on display.
Sports editor Zach Carter enjoyed the moment, but as an avid fisherman, wished he had packed a fishing rod when seeing a few largemouth bass and channel catfish in a tank.

Following that, the six made their way around Progressive Field, the home of the MLB’s Cleveland Guardians. MLB fan Logan Connor was excited to see the park and was interested to see the statues of Cleveland legends at the front of the ballpark.
After that, the team walked around a bit more while Andrew Berger and Titus Slaughter took many photos and captured the moments for our postcard. For lunch, the team stopped by the Harry Buffalo and watched other conference college basketball games.
Once they finished their lunch, the team went to Rocket Arena to watch some of the men’s MAC Tournament while Berger and Slaughter took some game shots. After leaving the arena, Elijah Poe, Logan Connor, and Carter worked on feature work while Derran Cobb kept the social accounts running.

Near the day’s conclusion, the group went to Flannery’s for dinner. Following that, it was time to prepare and get some rest for Ball State’s second game of the week. They will play No. 4 Kent State Friday at 10 a.m.
