The Ball State Cardinals beat Eastern Michigan Eagles

The Ball State Cardinals have moved up in the 6th seed of the Mid American Conference.

MUNCIE, Ind. — Tuesday, the Ball State Cardinals took on the Eastern Michigan Eagles at home in Worthen Arena.

The final outcome of the game was 86-84 Cardinals with a last second dunk by Guard Jeremiah Hill of Ball State. Prior to the Cardinals facing the Eagles, the Cardinals had a record of 11 wins and 12 losses overall but as well had a record of four wins and six losses in the Mid American Conference. Another thing prior to the game between Ball State and Eastern Michigan is that Guard Jeremiah Hernandez reached 1000 points in his college career so Coach Lewis and Hernandez met each other on the half court line and Coach Lewis gave him a basketball to remember the accomplishment that Hernandez made.

In the first half, everything was going well for the Cardinals offensively and defensively, particularly with key helpers Jeremiah Hill, Jeremiah Hernandez and Payton Sparks. In the second half, Eastern Michigan took control offensively and defensively with key helpers like Christain Henry, D’Sean Nelson and Jalen Terry.

"I thought we did better in the first half and second half we did not do as bad as we thought,” said coach Lewis, head coach of the Ball State men’s basketball team. “But I thought we were a little clunky offensively all night and they did some stuff defensively pretty well. I thought we guarded very well defensively in the first half.

Following the victory of the Cardinals, the Cardinals moved up with a total record of 12-12 and a MAC Conference of 5-6. As well for the Eagles, they moved down to 11-13 overall and 4-7 in MAC play.
