MUNCIE, Ind. — David E. Bond (45) was convicted of murder, resisting law enforcement and possession of methamphetamine after a four-hour deliberation by a Delaware County jury.
Bond, a habitual offender with prior felony convictions for robbery and criminal confinement, faces significant prison time. Following the verdict, Bond admitted to his habitual offender status, which could add 6-20 years to his sentence. Murder convictions in Indiana carry sentences of 45 to 65 years, with additional fines. Delaware County Prosecuting Attorney Eric Hoffman commended law enforcement and the legal team for their work on the case.
“Over the course of the past few years, we have taken violent felons who habitually commit crimes off the street one by one and we will continue to do so,” said Hoffman. “David Bond is one of those violent offenders.”
Sentencing is scheduled for March 10, 2025.
